In the exhibition Da Capo, Stephan Balkenhol will explore the ambivalence of new beginnings. The sculptures will highlight notions of courage, strength and hubris at stake in the process of renewal. Theatrical counter-worlds recur in the work of the German artist, who will be featured in two solo exhibitions in 2020, at the Museum Jorn, Silkeborg, Denmark and at the Lehmbruck Museum, Duisburg, Germany.
